Frequently Asked Questions

This website is maintained independently on behalf of interested Legacy Owners. Court documents, legal filings and other source materials are reviewed and added as they become available in order to provide readers with an accurate and up-to-date reference resource.
The proceedings described on this website were commenced by or on behalf of certain Legacy Owners—purchasers who acquired residential property when the development was originally established as Cabo Riviera, before it was acquired and redeveloped as Costa Palmas in 2014. These purchasers entered into contracts under the original development and contend that a number of legal and governance issues affecting their properties remained unresolved following the transition to new ownership. The proceedings seek judicial determination of those issues and, in some cases, the enforcement of rights that the plaintiffs contend have continued throughout the various stages of the development. Other property owners within Costa Palmas acquired their properties under different circumstances and are not parties to these proceedings unless specifically identified in the relevant court documents. Accordingly, the legal issues discussed on this website should not be assumed to apply equally to every owner or every property within the Costa Palmas development.
Where possible, this website provides both English and Spanish versions of its content. However, some original source documents are available only in Spanish, while translations and summaries may be published progressively as they become available. The website will continue to expand its bilingual content over time.
